PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago -- Freshman Anne Forsyth of the University of Michigan continued her sensational first year of college with a fourth-place finish at the NACAC U20 Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 16).
Forsyth, representing Canada as a dual American-Canadian citizen, clocked 22:36.00 on the six-kilometer (3.73-mile) course on the grounds of Queens Park Savannah to round out a 1-2-3-4 finish by Team Canada.
Canada posted a perfect score of 10 points, with the United States finishing runner-up with 33 points. Team scores were determined by the individual places of each team's top four finishers.
Forsyth will return to Ann Arbor to compete in the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships at Michigan this coming Friday and Saturday (Feb. 22-23). A month later, she will head off to Aarhus, Denmark, to again represent Canada at the IAAF World U20 Cross Country Championships on March 30.
