BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The No. 21-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team earned its second win in as many days with a 5-2 victory over Indiana on Sunday afternoon (March 31) after taking the doubles point and winning four of six singles matches.

U-M earned the first point of the afternoon with doubles wins at Nos. 2 and 3. The duo of freshman Andrew Fenty and senior Myles Schalet earned the first win in doubles with a 6-2 triumph at the two spot. After IU won at No. 1, the Maize and Blue clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win at No. 3 by junior Connor Johnston and freshman Patrick Maloney.

The Hoosiers evened the score at one apiece with a straight-sets victory at No. 1, before Michigan rattled off consecutive wins at Nos. 3 and 6 by Schalet (7-5, 1-6, 6-3) and senior Gabe Tishman (6-3, 4-6, 6-1).

After an IU win at No. 4, U-M went on to win the remaining matches to secure its 5-2 victory. Maloney took No. 5, 6-4, 6-7 (9), 6-2 for his 11th win of the season, with Fenty rounding out the afternoon with a 7-5, 6-7, 6-1 win at No. 2. Fenty has won 12 consecutive singles matches and improves his record to a team-leading 20-4.

Michigan will return to home action next Friday (April 5) when it hosts Northwestern at the Varsity Tennis Center beginning at 3 p.m.
