
Wolverines Add Brooks to Signing Class

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's gymnastics head coach Bev Plocki announced on Wednesday (May 1) that Sierra Brooks has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Michigan.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be adding Sierra to our 2019-20 class," said Plocki. "She is a remarkable young woman and an amazing athlete. She will bring a lot of exciting gymnastics to our team."
Brooks is a native of Plainfield, Illinois, and is reclassifying after finishing high school at Oswego East a year early. She trains at Aspire Gymnastics Academy and joins November signee Gabby Wilson as part of this year's signing class.

• Competes for Aspire Gymnastics Academy
• Attends Oswego East High School in Oswego, Illinois
• 2019 Nastia Liukin Cup qualifier, placing fourth in the all-around and floor exercise
• Six-time Junior Olympic National qualifier
• Three-time Junior Olympic National team member
• Placed second on vault the last three years at Junior Olympic Nationals
• Tied for second in the all-around at Junior Olympic Nationals in 2016 and was third in both 2017 and 2018
• Perfect 10.0 on beam at the UGA Invitational in January, the only 10.0 on the event in 2019
• 2019 Region 5 all-around and beam champion
• Two-time Region 5 All-Star team member
• Four-time Illinois state champion
• Father, David, played baseball at Eastern Illinois University
• Mother, Shannon, was on the dance team at Bradley University
• Has a younger brother, Brandon
