Brown, Siimar Team to Capture Doubles at Ivy Plus

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Harrison Brown and Kristofer Siimar of the University of Michigan men's tennis team won the Forbes Draw doubles title at the Farnsworth-Ivy Plus played this past weekend (Sept. 20-22) at Lenz Tennis Center.
Brown and Siimar teamed up Friday (Sept. 20) to defeat the teams of Denton Ho and Eero Vasa (Cornell), 8-3, and Will Peters and Karl Poling (Princeton), 8-5. On Sunday (Sept. 22), the U-M pair battled to an 8-5 victory over Villhelm Fridell and Valdemar Holm of Buffalo in the final to cap off their weekend.
Brown also had success in singles, as he won his first two matches in the Pagoda Draw before falling to Penn's Aditya Gupta, 7-6(6), 6-3 in the semifinals. Siimar and Ryan Fu each finished the event with two singles wins.
The Wolverines next will travel to Oklahoma in two weeks for the ITA All-American Championships, which will take place Oct. 5-13 at the University of Tulsa.
