Wolverines Add Doodle Yuen to Incoming Class for Women's Golf

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's golf coach Jan Dowling announced today (Monday, Feb. 3) the addition of Doodle Yuen to the Wolverines' incoming 2020 class. Yuen joins fellow incoming freshman Monet Chun, who signed with U-M last fall.
"Doodle is an ambitious and focused young woman who fits the qualities we are looking for in a student-athlete," said Dowling. "Not only will she provide some serious depth to our program, but she shows great signs that our excellent team environment will push her to a new level in her golf game."
"Joining the Michigan community and golf team is a dream come true," said Yuen. "I look forward to learning from Coach Jan (Dowling) and Coach Mandi (Unruh) and to improving myself as a player while working on a great education."
A native of Los Gatos, California, Yuen attends Saint Francis High School, where she won back-to-back (2017, '18) West Catholic Athletic League medalist honors. In addition to her prep honors, Yuen has continued to excel during her junior golf career.
In 2019, she finished ninth at the AJGA's Hale Irwin Colorado Junior Championship and posted two additional top-10 finishes on the Junior Tour of California Series. After finishing as the medalist runner-up at the 2017 Junior Golf Association of Northern California qualifying for the Junior Worlds championship, she posted a second top-10 finish with her seventh-place showing in 2018.
Additionally in 2018, Yuen recorded a fifth-place finish at the AJGA's Junior at Yolo Fliers and took eighth at the Sean Remen Memorial Junior Classic, 11th at the Ryan Moore Junior Championship and 13th at the AJGA's Hale Irwin Colorado Junior.
Yuen is no stranger to the Maize and Blue as her grandparents Allan (1959) and Kate (1960) Yuen are U-M graduates, as well as her great grandparents Jack (1931 and Juris Doctor 1932) and Maida (1930) Yuen.
The Wolverines will lose seniors Hannah Ghelfi and Alisa Snyder to graduation at the end of this season.
