Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week -- Junior Ashley Lau guided Michigan its fourth straight top-five team finish as the Wolverines were fourth at the Indiana Invitational to close the regular season. With a final-round 68 (-4), Lau moved up four spots and recorded her first career medalist honor, the 32nd in program history. Lau (73-71-68) combined for a career-low 212 (-4) to share the top spot with Michigan State's Valery Plata (69-73-70) and Kent State's Emily Price (73-67-72). Lau is the first Wolverine to earn a title since teammate Ashley Kim, who shared medalist honors at the 2020 Hurricane Invitational. Lau shared the weekly honor with MSU's Plata. » Big Ten Release
Ashley Kim, Ashley Lau, Hailey Borja (Jan. 21)
Big Ten Women's Golf Preseason Honorees -- The Big Ten announced its list of conference preseason honorees and senior Ashley Kim, junior Ashley Lau and sophomore Hailey Borja represent Michigan's selections. U-M's lone senior, Kim returns after earning All-Big Ten first team honors in 2020 and highlighting last season winning her first career event at the Hurricane Invitational. Having started 26 of 27 career events, she is carrying a 74.33 per round average. Starting every event in her career (19 straight), Lau has become a staple of the Wolverines lineup. With a career average of 74.35, she was selected as an individual to the 2019 NCAA Regional. Becoming the first freshman in U-M history to earn All-Big Ten honors last season, Borja was pinnacle to U-M's success last season as she was second with a 73.76 per round average. In her first career event, she posted a tie for fourth at the Glass City Invitational -- recording the highest freshman debut since 1995 (24 years). » Big Ten Release
Hailey Borja (Jan. 20)
Big Ten Golfer of the Week -- Hailey Borja was named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week after leading the Wolverines by tying her career low with a 69 (-3) as Michigan closed its training trip in Florida with a 289-322 victory over Florida Gulf Coast. She compiling four birdies and a match-best 13 pars, finishing as U-M's top golfer by four shots and posted the Wolverines' only sub-par round of the match. » Big Ten Release
