• The Wolverines slip to 7-1 on the season with their first Big Ten loss. The team has lost back-to-back games in the series with the Spartans for the first time since 2013-15 seasons.
• Offensively, the Wolverines generated 552 yards of total offense, including 333 in the first half (252 passing).
• On his first career touch, Andrel Anthony scored a 93-yard touchdown to give the team its first points in the game. That is the longest first-career reception for any player at U-M.
• It was U-M's longest score since Ryan Mallett connected with Mario Manningham at Wisconsin in 2007 (97 yards) and the second-longest passing touchdown in U-M history. It also marks the longest play from scrimmage in the history of the series between these two schools.
• Quarterback Cade McNamara now owns two of the four longest pass plays in U-M history: his 93-yard hookup with Anthony and an 87-yard touchdown to Cornelius Johnson earlier in the year.
• McNamara had more passing yards (232) in the first half than he had recorded in seven of eight career starts, entering today. He finished with a career-high 383, his first career 300-yard passing game, and one yard shy of the single-game passing record in the MSU rivalry (Shea Patterson had 384 in 2019).
• Anthony added another touchdown, a 17-yard score, during the second quarter. Anthony's 136 receiving yards in the first half set a single-game high for U-M. Anthony added 19 second-half yards to finish the game with 155 yards through the air.
• Tight end Erick All set new career-highs in receptions (10) and yards (98).
• Safety R.J. Moten and defensive end Mike Morris each intercepted a first-quarter pass, the first career interception for both players. Morris' pick was tipped by Daxton Hill. U-M has multiple turnovers forced in four straight games.
• Outside linebacker David Ojabo has at least a share of a sack in four straight games after he took down MSU quarterback Payton Thorne near the end of the second quarter.
• Kicker Jake Moody converted three first-half field goals and three PATs (12 points). He went on to finish with four, more than his average of 10 points per game (No. 11, NCAA).
