ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 4-seed University of Michigan men's soccer team (7-6-3) will host No. 5-seeded Wisconsin (7-6-3) on Sunday (Nov. 7) at 1 p.m. in a Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal match at U-M Soccer Stadium. The match is set to be streamed live on B1G+.
The Wolverines and Badgers will face off the for the second time in two weeks as Michigan earned a 1-0 regular-season victory against Wisconsin on Oct. 15.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan is 17-19-2 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament, going 1-1 in the 2020-21 campaign. The Wolverines won the Big Ten Tournament in 2010, earning a 1-0 win in the semifinals against Wisconsin before going on to a 4-1 victory over Penn State in the championship game.
• Michigan is narrowly outscoring its opponents 21-20 and is outshooting its opponents 200-173. The Wolverines also lead the Big Ten in corner-kick opportunities with 92 on the season.
• Senior Kevin Buca continues to lead the Michigan offensively after scoring his fifth goal of the season at Ohio State and ranks 10th in the Big Ten in the category. He also leads the team in point thanks to a pair of assists.
• Senior Marc Ybarra will leave his mark on the Michigan men's soccer program in many ways, but is the all-time leader in games played (89) and games started (88) in his five-year career as a Wolverine. Ybarra also ranks second in U-M history with 24 career assists and needs just four to tie record-holder Adam Bruh.
• Senior Umar Farouk Osman is tied with Latif Alashe for second in program history in games played with 85. Osman also ranks sixth in career starts (74).

Wisconsin
Michigan leads the all-time series 16-8-6
Michigan is 5-2-1 all-time against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament, having last played the Badgers in the 2018 edition and earning a 1-0 victory. U-M and Wisconsin have faced off only one time at U-M Soccer Stadium in the B1G Tournament, with Michigan earning a 2-0 victory in 2011.
Wisconsin comes into the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 5 seed after losing its final four games of the season. The Badgers have not scored a goal since Oct. 12 after previously shutting out five straight opponents. Michigan was the first team to score on Wisconsin in more than five games and were responsible for the start of the Wisconsin four-game skid to end the regular season.
Carter Abbott has earned the starting role in goal to end the regular season after the spot was split between two keepers for the first half of the campaign. Abbott has a 0.76 goals-against average, allowing nine goals with two shutouts, while making 20 saves.
Andrew Akindele and Inaki Iribarren lead the Wisconsin offense with nine points each. Iribarren has scored a team-high four goals and Akindele has added three goals and three assists.
