The No. 3-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team (15-1, 10-1 Big Ten) head back to the road to take on No. 4 Ohio State (18-4, 12-4 Big Ten) in Columbus on Sunday (Feb. 21). The matchup is the only one of the regular season between the rivals. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. tipoff on CBS Sports with Kevin Harlan (play-by-play) and Bill Raftery (analyst) on the call.

Who are the Ohio State Buckeyes?
• No. 3 Michigan (15-1, 10-1 B1G) heads to Columbus for its only regular-season meeting against No. 4 Ohio State (18-4, 12-4 B1G) at The Schottenstein Center.
• The winners of seven straight, the Buckeyes remain one of the hottest teams in the nation. OSU is 10-1 at home, with the lone loss coming against Purdue (Jan. 19) after the Boilermakers Jaden Ivey hit a last second three-pointer to give Purdue a 67-65 victory.
• Trailing in the all-time series, 105-79, U-M won five of six meetings in the mid- and late 1990s, but have won just twice in Columbus over the next 18 games (since 1999). U-M's last win was a 70-60 decision (Feb. 11, 2014; 7 years and 10 days) during the Michigan's 2014 Big Ten championship run.
• Sunday's game will be the 16th time that both U-M and OSU were ranked among the nation's elite. The Maize and Blue trail, 8-7 in those games. It also will be the first time both programs battle when listed among the top five of the rankings. The last ranked meeting between the programs was a 77-63 Michigan loss in Columbus with the Wolverines ranked at No. 19 and OSU ranked No. 25.
• OSU is averaging 78.1 points per game, while grabbing 37.0 rebounds. The Buckeyes lead the Big Ten from the free-throw line (77.4 percent), which is 23rd in the nation.
• Ohio State is led by three double-figure scorers, highlighted by sophomore forward E.J. Liddell's 15.5 points. Junior guard Duane Washington Jr. adds 14.9 points as he has drained a team-best 61 three-pointers (2.7 per game). Cal transfer and redshirt-junior forward Justice Sueing is averaging 10.5 points.
• Senior forward Kyle Young adds 8.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game and newly added starter, junior guard Justin Aherns, has drained 49 three-pointers (2.2 per game) as 105 of his 108 attempts have come from long range.
The Series with Ohio State
• Michigan trails, 105-79, in the all-time series with Ohio State. U-M holds a 28-60 record in Columbus, winning just once in its last 14 games there.
• U-M has 10 games (7-3) vacated due to NCAA Sanctions -- giving U-M an NCAA-recognized 72-102 all-time record. Additionally, the Buckeyes had eight games (1-7) of their own vacated by the NCAA due to a player receiving extra benefits.
• There have been 15 games when both teams were ranked among the nation's top 25; U-M trails, 8-7, in those contests. The last ranked battle saw No. 19 Michigan fall, 77-63, to No. 23 Ohio State at Value City Arena on March 1, 2020.
• There have been 34 games decided by three points or fewer with U-M trailing, 20-14 in those games. The last thriller was a 61-58 Ohio State win at Crisler Center on Feb. 4, 2020. In a game that featured 19 lead changes, the Buckeyes used late free throws to seal the win, as a U-M game-tying three-point attempt rimmed out.
• There have been eight overtime games, with U-M leading, 6-2. The last overtime contest was a 76-74 U-M win in overtime at Crisler Center on Feb. 5, 2013. After scoring 23 points, Tim Hardaway Jr. blocked Aaron Craft's game-tying layup attempt as time expired to give the No. 3 Wolverines a win over the No. 10 Buckeyes.

Perfect Material for the Broadcast
• U-M has won its last four games, including road victories at Purdue (70-53) and at No. 21 Wisconsin (67-59). The Wolverines are 4-1 away from Ann Arbor -- all Big Ten games.
• Hunter Dickinson, who claimed his sixth Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor this week, leads U-M in scoring (14.6), rebounding (7.8), blocks (26; 1.6) and field-goal percentage (.646). Coming off the bench in the non-conference portion of the schedule, he has started all 11 Big Ten games.
• Isaiah Livers has continued to become an all-around threat and is averaging 14.5 points per game, and has a team-best five 20-plus point games. He is 82 points away from reaching 1,000 career points. However, it is everything else he has done that has people on notice. He is averaging career-bests in rebounding (6.1) and assists (2.3; 36 total). Livers has three assists or more in six of his last eight games, while grabbing at least five boards in all eight of those contests -- including a career-high-tying 10 at Purdue (Jan. 22).
• Mike Smith continues to lead the Big Ten (32nd nationally) with 5.3 assists per game. He leads the conference thanks in part to dishing 6+ assists in eight of his last 10 games, which included a career-best 10 at Minnesota (Jan. 16) -- his first double-digit performance of his collegiate career. He needs 22 assists to reach 500 in his collegiate career.
• It's buried in the stats, but Smith leads the Wolverines shooting 48.6 percent from long range. After starting 1-for-9 to begin his U-M career, he has since gone 17-for-28 (60.7 percent). He has made at least one three-pointer in 11 of his last 12 games.
• The Big Ten has rescheduled three of U-M's games -- all at home. Iowa moves from March 4 to Feb. 25, while Illinois is rescheduled to March 2 (originally Feb. 11). The annual home-and-home with Michigan State will now close the regular season with MSU visiting Crisler on March 4 (originally Feb. 6) before closing at the Breslin Center on March 7. With the changes, U-M loses three conference games -- at Penn State, at Northwestern and a home game against Indiana.
