Michigan Earns Second Consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award (7/19/21)

Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week -- Sophomore May Pertofsky was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in U-M's weekend sweep of Indiana. The honor is the first of her career. In the pair of victories, Pertofsky registered a total of 30 kills, highlighted by 17 on Saturday (March 13). She hit .500 (30-5-50) in the weekend set and marked a total of seven service aces en route to totaling 38 points. The last Wolverine to earn a Big Ten weekly award was Paige Jones on Nov. 11, 2019.
Big Ten Preseason Awards and Poll (Jan. 20)
Preseason All-Big Ten -- Junior Paige Jones was named to the preseason All-Big Ten team. Jones, who was a unanimous All-Big Ten first team selection last season and third-team AVCA All-American, improved her game in every facet after a freshman season that earned her a spot on the All-Big Ten freshman team.
Big Ten Preseason Poll -- In the poll of conference coaches, Michigan was predicted sixth in the 2020-21 season. The poll: 1. Wisconsin, 2. Minnesota, 3. Nebraska, 4. Penn State, 5. Purdue, 6. Michigan, 7. Ohio State, 8. Illinois, 9. Michigan State, 10. Northwestern.
