Six Wolverines Invited to USA Hockey Summer Showcase

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Six members of the University of Michigan ice hockey team have been invited to the USA Hockey Summer Showcase, it was announced by USA Hockey on Monday (June 28).
Rising sophomores Matty Beniers, Thomas Bordeleau and Jacob Truscott along with incoming freshmen Dylan Duke, Luke Hughes and Mackie Samoskevich are among the 44 players invited to the Showcase scheduled for July 24-31 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.
The Showcase also will include teams from Finland and Sweden and will serve as an evaluation for the World Junior Championship. There will be 11 games across eight days, which will be streamed on HockeyTV.com.
Beniers looks to make his second straight World Junior team after winning gold this past January alongside Wolverines Cam York (2020-21) and Brendan Brisson. Beniers added to his medal count in June with a bronze medal with Team USA at the World Championship in Latvia.
