Leigha Brown (Feb. 7)
Naismith Player of the Year Midseason Team -- Leigha Brown was included on the 2023 Naismith Player of the Year Midseason Team. Brown leads No. 12-ranked Michigan in scoring at 17.7 points per contest on 55.8 percent shooting from the floor, while adding 5.1 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. She is the only player nationally to average at least 17 points per game on 50 percent shooting with at least five assists and five rebounds per game. Brown has scored in double figures 20 times this season, highlighted by 11 20-point contests and one 30-point game. She has four double-doubles on the season and reached the 1,000-point mark of her Michigan career at Minnesota (Jan. 29).
Leigha Brown (Feb. 6)
Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll -- Leigha Brown was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll for the sixth time this season after helping Michigan to a 2-0 week with wins over Illinois (Feb. 2) and Michigan State (Feb. 5). Against Illinois, she turned in 27 points on 10-for-13 shooting with four rebounds and five assists. Brown followed that up with 29 points, a career-best 12 rebounds and eight assists at Michigan State, just missing a triple-double. Leigha Brown (Jan. 30)
Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll -- Leigha Brown was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll after reaching the 1,000-point mark of her Michigan career. Brown began Michigan's three-game week by scoring a career-best 31 points against No. 6-ranked Indiana (Jan. 23), while also going for four points and two assists. She followed that up with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists at No. 10-ranked Maryland (Jan. 26). Brown ended the week by becoming the fourth-fastest Wolverine to reach 1,000 points, turning in 20 points, five rebounds and three assists at Minnesota (Jan. 29). » Big Ten Release
Leigha Brown (Jan. 17)
Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll -- Leigha Brown was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll for the second straight week after leading Michigan to a 2-0 week. In Michigan's 80-59 win at Purdue (Jan. 10), Brown had 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting, four boards, four assists, two blocks and a steal in 35 minutes. She followed that up with 17 points on 6-for-11 shooting, six assists, two rebounds and two steals against Michigan State (Jan. 14). Brown shot 57.1 percent (4-for-7) from distance for the week and 54.2 percent from the floor. She has reached double figures in seven of Michigan's last eight games. » Big Ten Release

Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll -- Leigha Brown was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll after recording a pair of 20-point games in Michigan's 1-1 week. Against Penn State (Jan. 3), Brown recorded her second double-double of the season with 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in 36 minutes of action. She followed that up with 20 points, three boards and six assists in 31 minutes against No. 16 Iowa. Leigha Brown (Dec. 27)
Big Ten Player of the Week -- Leigha Brown was named the Co-Big Ten Player of the Week after helping Michigan to a 76-68 win over No. 6 North Carolina at the Jumpman Invitational (Dec. 20). It is the second weekly honor of her career and first this season from the conference. Brown turned in a game-high 25 points on 9-for-15 shooting, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals as Michigan recorded its second top-25 win of the season. Brown scored 13 of her points on 4-for-4 shooting from the floor and a 3-for-3 showing from distance in the first quarter as Michigan put up a program-record 35 points in the first 10 minutes to essentially put the game out of reach for the Tar Heels. » Big Ten Release
Leigha Brown (Dec. 19)
Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll -- Leigha Brown was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll for the second time this season after posting 16 points, eight assists and six rebounds in Michigan's win over Appalachian State (Dec. 17). It was Brown's fifth game this season with at least five assists, as she is up to 5.3 helpers per game to rank fifth in the conference. Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll -- Fifth-year senior Leigha Brown was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll after helping Michigan to a 2-0 week. In Michigan's ACC/Big Ten Challenge win at Miami (Dec. 1), Brown poured in a season-best 26 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the floor and a perfect 12-for-12 showing at the line. She also chipped in four points, four assists and two steals in 35 minutes of action. In the Big Ten opener against Northwestern (Dec. 4), she recorded the first point-assist double-double of her career with 10 points and a career-high 11 dimes. Brown was the first Wolverine since Siera Thompson on Dec. 9, 2016. Emily Kiser (Nov. 28)
Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll -- Graduate student Emily Kiser was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week honor roll for the second straight week after being named the MVP of the Gulf Coast Showcase. In the championship game against No. 21 Baylor (Nov. 27), Kiser went for a career-best 26 points on 10-for-13 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. She narrowly missed a double-double against South Florida (Nov. 26), finishing with 10 points, nine boards, two assists and two steals. In Michigan's opening win over Air Force (Nov. 25), Kiser had 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting. Emily Kiser (Nov. 21)
Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll -- Graduate student Emily Kiser was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week honor roll for the second time in her career after putting together a pair of 20-point performances in Michigan's 2-0 week. Against Western Michigan (Nov. 16), Kiser turned in her first double-double of the season and fourth of her career. She had career highs in points (25) and assists (8), while grabbing a season-high 14 rebounds to narrowly miss out on a triple-double. Kiser followed that up with her third straight 20-point game, going for 20 points, three steals, two rebounds and a block in 37 minutes. She also hit a career-best 10 free throws in the contest. Leigha Brown (Nov. 15)
Wooden Preseason Top 50 -- Leigha Brown was named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50, her third watch list of the season. Brown is also on watch lists for the Meyers Drysdale Award and the Naismith Trophy. The fifth-year guard appeared in 24 games last season, starting 15 times as she battled injury throughout the year. Brown averaged 14.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 26.5 minutes per game. She had 20 double-figure scoring games and eclipsed the 20-point mark four times, highlighted by a season-best 25 points in Michigan's first-ever win over a top-five team in an overtime triumph against Baylor (Dec. 19, 2021). After appearing in just one game this season, she is tied for the team lead in assists per game at 4.0.
Laila Phelia (Nov. 14)
Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll -- Sophomore guard Laila Phelia was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll after a pair of 20-point games to help Michigan to a 2-0 win. In Michigan's season-opening win over Delaware State (Nov. 9), she finished with 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the floor and a 4-for-6 showing from deep. Phelia set new career highs in that game in both three-pointers made (4) and blocks (3), while also contributing three assists, three boards and a steal. She followed that up with a 21-point performance on 9-for-10 shooting against Saint Francis (Nov. 11), becoming the 11th Wolverine in program history to shoot at least 90 percent from the floor on at least eight attempts. She also recorded six boards, three assists, a steal and a block in just 22 minutes. Phelia is second in the Big Ten in overall field goal percentage (.810), while leading in both three-point field goals per game (3.5) and three-point field goal percentage (.778). » Big Ten Release

Ann Meyers-Drysdale Award Watch List -- Leigha Brown was named one of 20 watch list candidates for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Award, given to the top shooting guard in NCAA Division I women's basketball. Brown was one of 10 finalists for the award last season after being added to the late-season list. The fifth-year guard appeared in 24 games last season, starting 15 times as she battled injury throughout the year. Brown averaged 14.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 26.5 minutes per game. She had 20 double-figure scoring games and eclipsed the 20-point mark four times, highlighted by a season-best 25 points in Michigan's first-ever win over a top-five team in an overtime triumph against Baylor (Dec. 19, 2021). The list will be narrowed down to 10 in late-January and then five finalists will be selected in March to be presented to Meyers-Drysdale and the selection committee.
