ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team fell 1-0 against Indiana in the final match of the 2022 campaign Sunday (Oct. 23) at U-M Soccer Stadium.
Indiana (2-7-7, 1-7-2 Big Ten) outshot Michigan 7-2 in the opening 25 minutes before the Hoosiers converted on a loose ball in front to open the scoring.
After an initial shot from IU's Natasha Kim that was blocked, Ava Akeel slotted home an attempt at the top of the six.
Following a disallowed Indiana goal in the 66th minute following a video review, Michigan (7-8-3, 2-6-2 B1G) seized control of the offense half, with chances scattered over the next 15 minutes before senior Lily Farkas had a shot from the left flank, followed another quality chance three minutes later.

Freshman Taylor Brennan played in a ball from the left flank into the box in traffic. The result was a bounding header from senior Dani Wolfe eight yards out that went wide left. U-M's final chance came in the 87th minute, with Farkas' effort being blocked in front.
Nino totaled a season-high tying seven stops in goal, while Farkas and classmate Hannah Blake led the offensive with four and three shots, respectively.
U-M was outshot 15-11 in the match, but held an 8-3 advantage in the category in the second half.
Sunday's appearance for senior Meredith Haakenson solidified her as the program's career leader in matches played with 97. She concludes her U-M career with 21 goals and 16 assists to go along with 103 shots.
