• With today's win, Michigan leads the series against Indiana with 61 wins and 10 losses all-time including 41 wins in the last 43 games.
• The victory avenged U-M's 2020 loss at Memorial Stadium during the COVID-shortened season. U-M has 12 wins in the last 13 matchups at Indiana's facility and is 20-2 all-time.
• The Wolverines are 6-0 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1976-77.
• Michigan's opening-possession touchdown marked the fifth time in six games this year that U-M has scored on its first chance with the ball.
• The Wolverine defense forced Indiana to punt on its first five possessions of the second half before forcing a turnover on downs with under two minutes to play.
• In total, U-M defenders produced 10 TFLs and seven sacks. It was U-M's second game this year with at least 9.0 TFLs and 6.0 sacks (Colorado State). The Wolverines have at least 3.0 sacks in four of six games this year.
• The opening drive included a 50-yard run from Blake Corum. Corum has at least one explosive play (20-plus yards) in five of six games this year. He was limited to a 19-yard run against Colorado State.
• Corum finished with 124 yards rushing on 25 carries (5.0 YPC), marking his third straight 100-yard rushing game this season. He also scored a rushing touchdown, giving him an FBS-leading 11 for the season.
• Safety Rod Moore recorded his second career interception on a second-quarter play with just under 10 minutes remaining. Both of Moore's interceptions have come this season.
• U-M's Mike Morris blocked a second-quarter field goal try from the Hoosiers. It was U-M's first blocked field goal of the year and its second blocked kick (Caden Kolesar, blocked punt vs. UConn). The last Wolverine to knock down a field goal try was Donovan Jeter (vs. Western Michigan, 2021).
• The Hoosiers had already blocked a U-M field goal try on the previous drive. The last time U-M was part of a game with multiple blocked field goals/PATs was the 2014 Rutgers contest. In that game, U-M blocked a Rutgers PAT and the Scarlet Knights blocked a 56-yard attempt from U-M kicker Matt Wile.
• Quarterback J.J. McCarthy set career-best marks in pass attempts (28), completions (36) and passing yards (304), with the latter marking his first 300-yard game as a Wolverine.
• McCarthy threw his first career interception in today's game, ending a streak of 129 consecutive pass attempts by McCarthy without an interception. That had been the Big Ten's longest streak of consecutive passes without an interception.
• Cornelius Johnson was on the receiving end of a 29-yard passing touchdown from McCarthy. It was Johnson's sixth career touchdown of 20-plus yards (out of nine).
• Wide receiver Ronnie Bell set a career-high with 11 receptions. Bell's previous career-high nine catches were set at Michigan State in 2021. It was his third career 100-yard receiving game (126), the second of his career against Indiana.
• Luke Schoonmaker set a career-high with nine receptions. Schoonmaker's previous career-high mark of seven catches was set earlier this year against Maryland.
• After going 2-for-7 on third down in the first half, the Wolverines posted a 5-for-6 third-down conversion mark in the second half.
• The Wolverines came out of the locker room with a 98-yard touchdown drive on their first possession of the second half. It was the third scoring drive of 90-plus yards for the Wolverines this season and the longest of the year. There have been six 99-yard drives in modern Michigan Football history, most recently in 2013, and this marked the eighth 98-yard drive.
• Michigan outgained Indiana in the second half by a margin of 263-29 yards.
• Today's contest marked the first career start for long snapper Greg Tarr.
