ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan Athletic Department announced Monday (Feb. 14) the season ticket information and pricing for enrolled students during the 2022-23 academic year. The student renewal deadline for football, men's basketball and ice hockey is April 1.
Currently enrolled students who purchased a season ticket (football/basketball/ice hockey) or were on a waitlist for the 2021-22 academic year will be able to buy 2022 season tickets between March 10 and April 1, 2022.
Currently enrolled students who do not now have a season ticket (football/basketball/ice hockey) or were not on a season ticket waitlist for the 2021-22 academic year will have access to purchase 2022 season tickets between the dates of March 24 and April 1, 2022.
In order to comprehensively support our more than 900 student-athletes, invest in our teams and coaching staffs, and offset some of the increased operating costs from rising inflation, we have made moderate adjustments to the student season ticket amounts for football. We annually assess the impact of adjusting the cost of tickets, and this will be the first adjustment to student football season ticket prices since the 2015 season.
The student ticket price for football increases to $27 per game and $216 total ($120 need-based) for the Wolverines' home schedule in 2022.
The student season ticket prices for both men's basketball and ice hockey will remain unchanged at $175 ($105 need-based) and $150 ($90 need-based), respectively.
The need-based program provides reduced-priced tickets for students who meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. The process for reduced pricing will be communicated to those eligible students by the Office of Financial Aid. Michigan's need-based ticketing model for students, now entering its eighth year, has an application deadline of Feb. 25.
The deadline for returning students to request tickets for the three identified sports is April 1. In addition to their game ticket, students will receive a free official season t-shirt with the purchase of the season ticket for each respective sport. If demand exceeds supply, returning students will be able to join a waitlist and may be considered following the incoming student sale.
Following is the pricing for the three sports and the need-based pricing:
| Sport | 2022-23 Price | Federal Pell Grant Eligible Price |
| Football | $216 | $120 |
| Men's Basketball | $175 | $105 |
| Ice Hockey | $150 | $90 |
There will be a $15 processing fee applied to the entire order.
Newly enrolled students (for the 2022-23 academic year) will have the opportunity to purchase season tickets between June 7-24.
Students can attend any other Michigan varsity sporting event free of charge with a valid Mcard.
Like past seasons for football, attendance points from the 2021 season will determine student seating. Students with the highest point totals will be seated lower in the student section. Students who did not receive attendance points in 2021 will be seated higher in the student section but still lower than incoming students for 2022.
For each game that students attend, they will receive three attendance points. Students receive an additional 3 points for arriving (ticket scanned) 30 minutes before the game. New for 2022, any students who transfer their tickets will receive 3 points maximum.
Students can earn up to 42 points for the 2022 season, equivalent to arriving at seven games at least 30 minutes before kickoff. The lowest game for each student is dropped.
