
Michigan All-Arounders Claim 13 WCGA Regular-Season All-America Citations

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 3-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team's five all-arounders combined for 13 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) regular-season All-America citations as announced on Thursday (March 24).
Student-athletes with the top eight National Qualifying Scores (NQS) for the regular season (with ties) for each event plus the all-around earned All-America honors. Second-team All-America honors are earned by student-athletes ranked Nos. 9-16 (with ties) in the NQS.
Junior Sierra Brooks, the Big Ten Conference Gymnast of the Year, is a three-time first-team All-America honoree in 2022 to bring her career total to seven regular-season All-American citations. Brooks earned first-team honors in the all-around as she ranks third nationally, while also earning first-team honors on the vault as she ranks fourth nationally and on floor exercise where she ranks seventh. The junior all-arounder won 14 event titles in the regular season, including three in the all-around, and set career highs on the vault, uneven bars and floor.
Senior Natalie Wojcik earned four total All-America citations to bring her career total to 12 regular-season honors as she notched first-team honors on both the uneven bars and beam while grabbing second-team honors in the all-around and on the vault. Wojcik ties for eighth nationally on both the uneven bars and beam while ranking 10th on the vault and 11th in the all-around. Wojcik won 19 titles during the 2022 regular season and recorded her 100th career routine with a 9.900 or higher with 25 coming in the 2022 regular season.
Senior Abby Heiskell, junior Gabby Wilson and sophomore Naomi Morrison all earned two All-America nods each as Heiskell was a second-team honoree in the all-around and on the vault as she ranks 10th and 13th, respectively, bringing her career total to three regular-season citations. Heiskell won five event titles in the 2022 regular season and set or tied career highs on all four events.
Wilson earned first-team honors on the floor, ranking third nationally, while she earned second-team honors on the vault as she ranks 11th. The two citations are the first in the regular season for Wilson, who won the floor title on six occasions in the regular season with two perfect 10.0s while capturing one vault title.
Morrison earned first-team All-America honors on the vault after being a second-team honoree in her freshman season as she ranks eighth nationally and was a second-team honoree on the floor, ranking 16th. Morrison won both the vault and floor exercise one time each in the 2022 season, tying a career best in both events.
