
Host Wolverines Slotted as No. 3 Seed for NCAA Regional at U-M Golf Course

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's golf team was announced Wednesday (April 27) as the No. 3 seed for the NCAA Regional it will host at the U-M Golf Course on Monday through Wednesday, May 9-11.
Each of the six regional sites will feature 12 teams as well as six invited individuals. The top four teams (24 total) and the low two individuals not on an advancing team (12 individuals) will head to the national championships Friday through Wednesday, May 20-25, at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Wolverines, who earned automatic entry into the NCAA field by winning their first Big Ten Conference championship last weekend, will be joined in the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional by:

The five additional regional sites include: Albuquerque, N.M. (UNM Championship Course, host New Mexico); Stillwater, Okla. (Karsten Creek Golf Club, host Oklahoma State); Tallahassee, Fla. (Seminole Legacy Golf Club, host Florida State); Stanford, Calif. (Stanford Golf Course, host Stanford); and Franklin, Tenn. (Vanderbilt Legends Club, host Vanderbilt).
Michigan has made 10 NCAA team appearances (2001, '02, '05, '07, '09, '11, '12, '16, '17, '21) along with with four individual appearances -- Laura Olin (2004), Amy Schmucker (2006), Ashley Bauer (2010) and Ashley Lau (2019).
The Maize and Blue has advanced to the NCAA Finals four times in program history, finishing 17th at the 2002 event held at Washington National, tying for 18th at the 2016 event held at Oregon Country Club, tying for 16th at the 2017 event at Rich Harvest Farms, and finishing 20th in 2021 at Grayhawk.
