ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The Big Ten Conference and its television partners announced Thursday (May 26) the kickoff times for six University of Michigan football games during the 2022 season. Additional games can be selected prior to the season or will be chosen during the six- and 12-day selection process with the networks.
Michigan will open the season on Sept. 3 with a noon kickoff against Colorado State on ABC. The Wolverines won the only previous matchup with the Rams, a 24-14 victory in the 1994 Holiday Bowl in San Diego, Calif.
A week later on Sept. 10, Michigan will host Hawaii in a primetime matchup at 8 p.m. on Big Ten Network. U-M holds a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series, winning the first two games in Maui during the 1986 and 1998 seasons and won a 63-3 affair at the Big House during the 2016 season.
Michigan will face Connecticut in the team's final non-conference match on Sept. 17, with kickoff slated for noon on ABC. This will be the third meeting between the Wolverines and Huskies, with Michigan claiming a 30-10 victory in the rededication of Michigan Stadium during the 2010 season and a 24-21 win at UConn during the 2013 season.
The Wolverines will start the Big Ten season against Maryland at noon from the Big House on Sept. 24. The game will be televised by either FOX or FS1. U-M has won nine of the 10 meetings with Terrapins, including the last six meetings between the two programs. The Wolverines have compiled a 6-1 record in conference openers under head coach Jim Harbaugh and have posted an 88-26-2 mark in the conference openers.
Michigan will serve as Indiana's homecoming opponent on Oct. 8 at Memorial Stadium. The game between the Wolverines and Hoosiers will kick off at noon on a television network to be determined. U-M has compiled a 60-10 record all-time against the Hoosiers and has a 20-3 mark all-time on the road against IU.
As previously announced, The Game will be televised by FOX at noon on Nov. 26. This year's game between Michigan and Ohio State in Columbus will be the 118th played in the series. The Wolverines hold a 59-52-6 advantage against the Buckeyes, and won a 42-27 affair last season at Michigan Stadium to capture the Big Ten East Division title.
