Brooks Signs Exhibit 10 Contract with Indiana Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- After going unselected in Thursday's (June 23) 2022 NBA Draft, free agent and former University of Michigan graduate guard Eli Brooks agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal with the Indiana Pacers on Friday (June 24).
Brooks becomes the third Wolverine this offseason to garner an NBA deal after freshman guard Caleb Houstan and Moussa Diabate were selected in the second round Thursday -- Houstan with the No. 32 overall pick by the Orlando Magic and Diabate 43rd by the Los Angeles Clippers.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum salary NBA contract. The contract gives the Pacers the flexibility to convert it into a two-way deal, but the team has to ensure that it happens before the commencement of the regular season. Brooks will participate in training camp and the Pacers will hold his G League rights.
Returning for a graduate season with the NCAA's extra year due to COVID-19, Brooks set Michigan records for games played (159) and career wins (124). Averaging a career-best 12.9 points this season, Brooks posted 26 double-figure scoring games, which doubled the totals of his junior (13) and senior (13) years. His 1,157 career points helped him become the 56th Wolverine to reach 1,000 career points, ranking 42nd all-time in the category.
The 2022 All-Big Ten honorable mention honoree, Brooks helped the Wolverines reach the Sweet 16 in three NCAA Tournaments, two Elite Eights as well as the Final Four and title game in 2018. He added a Big Ten championship (2021) and helped the Maize and Blue win a second straight Big Ten Tournament (2018) title. He also was a two-time captain.
Brooks finished with 400 rebounds (2.5 rpg), 313 assists (2.0 apg) and 170 three-pointers -- the 15th Wolverine with 150 or more in a career.
Brooks, along with Houstan and Diabate, will head to the NBA Summer League, which will take place July 7-17 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of UNLV. All 75 games of the 11-day competition will air live on television on ESPN networks or NBA TV.
