
Wolverines Add NC State Transfer Ridgeway

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's soccer coach Jennifer Klein announced the signing of graduate transfer defender Margot Ridgeway to the Wolverine program on Wednesday (June 8).
Ridgeway joins U-M after spending the past three seasons at NC State, where she played in 18 matches with five starting nods on the Wolfpack back line.
At NC State, she was awarded the school's Comeback Player of the Year honor during the 2020-21 season after suffering a stroke in the summer of 2020. She later appeared in seven matches with four starts in the spring of 2021.
She played her freshman season at UC Davis, where she started 17 of 19 matches and logged 1,745 minutes of match time and was named to the 2018 Big West All-Freshman Team.

The Fair Haven, N.J., native joins a group of returners and incoming freshmen who will look to replace departed first team All-American Alia Martin, who is a member of the NWSL's Washington Sprit.
