ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The World Athletics Championships await four individuals who are either current members of the University of Michigan program or finished their collegiate careers as Wolverines, with competition set to begin in Eugene, Ore., this weekend.
Current Wolverines Joshua Zeller and Dubem Amene are among the nearly 1,900 athletes from 192 different member federations who are entered to compete at Hayward Field between July 15-24, as are Olympian alumni Cindy (Ofili) Sember and Steven Bastien.
Zeller and Sember will represent Great Britain in the 110-meter and 100-meter hurdles, respectively. Amene has been named to the relay pool for Nigeria's mix-gender 4x400 relay team, and Bastien was just this week named to Team USA in the decathlon after having initially qualified as an alternate.
