Goaltender Shea Joins Michigan Hockey for 2022-23 Season

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan ice hockey program announced Tuesday (July 12) the addition of Tyler Shea to the incoming class that will join the Wolverines in the fall of 2022.
Shea bolsters Michigan's goaltender unit of 2022 Mike Richter semifinalist Erik Portillo and Noah West and is the 12th member of the incoming class.
"Tyler comes highly regarded from the coaching staff at Wenatchee," associate head coach Bill Muckalt said. "He has a great compete and work ethic and will push Eric and Noah and all our players to be better. He has all the characteristics we feel are important to the goaltender position. With a strong academic background, Tyler will be a nice fit here at Michigan."

• Spent this past season with the Wenatchee Wild of the BCHL
• Played 40 games with a 14-14 record
• Made 1,040 saves for a .904 save percentage and posted a 2.98 goals-against average
• Drafted and played a game for the Madison Capitals (USHL)
• Spent two full seasons with the Austin Bruins (NAHL) posting a 19-22-5 career record with a .916 save percentage.
• Previously played for the Anaheim Jr. Ducks
