
Preseason Honors: Moody Selected to AP Preseason All-America Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan graduate student kicker Jake Moody was selected to The Associated Press preseason All-America first team on Monday (Aug. 22). The AP preseason All-America team presented by Regions Bank was selected by a panel of Top 25 poll voters .
Michigan's preseason watch list honorees (as of Aug. 22):
Mazi Smith, Sr., DL

• Aug. 1: Bednarik Award Watch List (defensive player of the year)
• All-Big Ten in 2021 (honorable mention, coaches and media)
• 21 games played with 14 starts
• Made 37 tackles with 2.5 for loss and four quarterback hurries in his first season as a starter
• Active at the line of scrimmage with four pass breakups in Big Ten play last season
