ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- With Star Wars Night, Military Appreciation, Ugly Sweater Night and Community Heroes Night highlighting just a few of the many fun themes that will provide an exciting experience for fans of all ages, the University of Michigan Athletic Department and the men's basketball program unveiled Wednesday (Oct. 25) its promotional schedule for the 2023-24 season.
Fans will get their last chance to see the Maize and Blue in preseason action when the U-M hosts Northwood on Friday (Nov. 3) in the lone exhibition game at Crisler Center. Four days later on Tuesday, Nov. 7, the regular-season opener against UNC Asheville will feature the Michigan Drumline performing a special program at halftime.
With a special $99 ticket pack available for Military Appreciation Night against Youngstown State on Friday, Nov. 10, U-M fans will receive four tickets, as well as two exclusive "MGoTroops" hats, for the matchup with the Penguins. Throughout the game, U-M Athletics will salute our armed forces veterans and recognize them for their valiant services.

Additionally, throughout the season, U-M fans can nominate a Hero of the Game to be acknowledged at home games.
The return of Star Wars Night highlights U-M's game with Long Beach State on Friday, Nov. 17. In conjunction with the galactic celebration, U-M Athletics is asking fans to donate an unwrapped gift for a Toy Drive benefitting patients at CS Mott Children's Hospital.
Additionally, the first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive an exclusively designed Wolverine Star Wars poster and will have the opportunity to meet some of their favorite characters on the concourse before the game.

The holiday spirit fills Crisler Center when U-M hosts an early Big Ten contest against Indiana on Tuesday, Dec. 5. All fans are encouraged to join U-M's student section -- "Maize Rage" -- in wearing their favorite "ugly" holiday sweaters as the Wolverines want to celebrate a festive send-off for students before they head out on their winter break.
In mid-December, Education Day will be celebrated when the Wolverines face Washtenaw County rival Eastern Michigan on Saturday (Dec. 16). Part of a doubleheader with the women's team, who will play Miami (Ohio) at 11 a.m., local school teachers will be recognized throughout the game, while young Wolverine fans will receive an activity workbook upon entry to the arena. Additionally, there will be a special halftime performance by Mutts Gone Nuts -- the comedic stunt dog group.
Closing out 2023, Kids Day, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, will be held on Friday (Dec. 29) against McNeese. Kids will receive a special Maize and Blue-designed pennant at the gate and can participate in exciting activities throughout the concourse.

Starting the New Year with the restart of Big Ten play against Minnesota on Thursday, Jan. 4, U-M will once again honor Community Heroes Night. Local firefighters, police officers, EMTs, nurses and other community heroes will be recognized. With the purchase of the game's special $30 ticket pack against the Gophers, fans will receive an exclusive U-M/Community Heroes T-shirt.
On Monday, Jan. 15 and MLK Day, once again the Wolverines will honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., against Ohio State. The basketball team will wear specially designed warmup shirts (not for retail sale) for the game. The U-M game is part of a special day of basketball on Fox with a noon tipoff.
Michigan will ask Crisler Center to show its colors with three consecutive home color-matching themes during conference play. In a "Wear White" game on Thursday, Jan. 18 against Illinois, fans are requested to wear white clothing. In the "Blue Out" on Saturday, Jan. 27 against Iowa, fans will be asked to color Crisler Blue. In addition, fans will receive a pair of blue pom poms (while supplies last) against the Hawkeyes.
Lastly, fans will be encouraged to wear as much pink as possible to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness on Saturday, Feb. 3 against Rutgers. Prior to the game, U-M will hand out pink pom poms upon entry (while supplies last).
Gearing up for spring break, the Maize Rage will celebrate with its annual Pool(e) Party, which was started with former Wolverine Jordan Poole in 2018. Fans are encouraged to join U-M's student section and dress in beach attire in the contest against Wisconsin on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
When Michigan State comes to Ann Arbor on Saturday, Feb. 17, U-M will hold its "Maize Out" presented by Absopure as fans can #GoBlueWearMaize during a late night rivalry game against the Spartans. LED wristbands will be distributed to all fans, and used during special light displays throughout the game. Additionally, throughout the game, U-M basketball alumni will be recognized.
In the home finale against Nebraska on Sunday, March 10, the Maize and Blue will honor its players and managers in their final contest at Crisler Center. Additionally, U-M Athletics will show fan appreciation with special promotions and activities throughout the game. In addition to honoring its seniors, the U-M cheer squad will perform their routine from nationals at halftime.
