Kari Miller (April 19)
Big Ten Athlete of the Week -- Kari Miller was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and the fifth time in her career after helping Michigan win the Big Ten championship with victories over Penn State (April 15) and No. 7 Ohio State (April 16). Miller won both her singles and doubles matches against the Buckeyes as U-M completed an 11-0 regular-season record to win the Big Ten outright. Miller teamed with Merri Kelly on the doubles court for a 6-2 win at No. 3 as U-M won the doubles point. On the singles side, Miller put Michigan's second point on the board with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 over No. 35 Sydni Ratliff. » Big Ten Release
Lily Jones (April 5)
Big Ten Athlete of the Week -- Lily Jones collected her first weekly honor from the Big Ten, earning Athlete of the Week honors after helping Michigan to a 2-0 week. Jones won both her singles matches over the weekend, clinching Michigan's win at Illinois and defeating a ranked opponent at Northwestern. She put Michigan's third point on the board against Northwestern (April 1), getting a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 4 over No. 109-ranked Christina Hand. Jones clinched Michigan's come-from-behind win at Illinois (April 2), rallying from down a set and 5-2 for a 4-6, 7-6 (1), 6-3 win at No. 5. Jones went 1-1 on the doubles court with Julia Fliegner as well, helping Michigan win the doubles point at Northwestern. » Big Ten Release
Julia Fliegner (March 8)
Big Ten Athlete of the Week -- Julia Fliegner was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after going 1-0 in both singles and doubles last week as Michigan split a pair of matches at Cal (March 1) and Pepperdine (March 4). In U-M's 4-3 win at Cal, Fliegner put Michigan's third point on the board behind a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 3 over No. 122-ranked Katja Wiersholm. Fliegner teamed up with Lily Jones for a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles as the Wolverines won the doubles point against the Golden Bears. Both her singles and doubles matches were unfinished at No. 9 Pepperdine. Fliegner is up to No. 34 in the newest singles rankings and No. 69 in doubles with Jones. » Big Ten Release
Julia Fliegner (Feb. 16)
Big Ten Athlete of the Week -- Julia Fliegner was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career after helping Michigan to a 2-1 record at last weekend's ITA National Team Indoor Championship (Feb. 9-11). Fliegner was named to the all-tournament team at the No. 3 singles spot after going 3-0. In Michigan's win over No. 7-ranked Virginia (Feb. 9), Fliegner put the deciding point on the board with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory over Sara Ziodato. Fliegner put Michigan's point on the board against eventual champion North Carolina behind a 6-2, 7-5 victory over No. 9-ranked Carson Tanguilig. Fliegner completed her weekend with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ohio State's Kolie Allen while teaming up with Gala Mesochoritou for a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles to clinch the doubles point. » Big Ten Release
Kari Miller (Feb. 1)
Big Ten Athlete of the Week -- Kari Miller was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week for the first time this season and for the fourth time in her career after helping Michigan grab a berth to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship. Miller teamed up with Jaedan Brown for a 2-0 doubles record at the top spot in last weekend's ITA Kick-Off (Jan. 28-29). Miller also finished with a 1-0 singles mark, clinching Michigan's win over No. 14 Oklahoma State (Jan. 29) with a 7-5, 7-6 (8) win at the No. 1 position. In Michigan's 4-0 shutout of Kansas (Jan. 28), Miller held a match point at No. 2 when the team match was abandoned after U-M secured four points. » Big Ten Release
