MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team is in 22nd place after day two of the NCAA Championships on Thursday (March 23) at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
In the finals, the quartet of Bence Szabados, Cam Peel, Gal Groumi and Nikola Acin bested their seed time to move up three spots from where they were ranked to finish 13th with a time of 1:16.31.
In the prelims, Groumi kicked off the morning session for the Wolverines, finishing 20th in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:42.63. Eitan Ben-Shitrit and Jared Daigle finished 26th and 34th, respectively.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Szabados raced to a 24th-place finish with a time of 19.21.
On the diving side, Cameron Gammage finished with 295.05 points to finish 44th on the one-meter springboard.
