
Brooks Named Regional Gymnast of the Year for Third Time in Career

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- University of Michigan women's gymnastics senior Sierra Brooks was named the WCGA Regional Gymnast of the Year for the third time in her career as announced Monday (April 3) by the Women's College Gymnastics Association.
The honor is the third of Brooks's career, making her the first U-M gymnast to earn the honor on three occasions. She was also named the regional gymnast of the year in 2020 and 2022.
Earlier this year, Brooks became just the third Michigan gymnast to be named a two-time Big Ten Gymnast of the Year and was the 13th Wolverine in program history to earn first-team all-conference honors on four occasions, joining Natalie Wojcik as the last U-M gymnast to do so. The Plainfield, Ill., native earned 15 event titles, including four all-around titles this season.
The senior all-arounder was a three-time Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honoree and recorded a perfect 10.0 on the vault at Rutgers a 10.0 on floor at the NCAA Regional Second Round, scored a career-high 9.975 on uneven bars against No. 1 Oklahoma and won a share of the Big Ten uneven bars title.
Brooks led the North East region in the all-around, vault and floor, while ranking second on beam and third on uneven bars. Furthermore, Brooks ranks in the top 20 nationally in all four individual events and eighth in the all-around, Heading into the postseason she is fifth on the vault, 14th on the uneven bars, 19th on the beam and 18th on the floor.
Outside of the gym, Brooks is the president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is an outstanding student-athlete as a business administration major in the Ross School of Business with a minor in entrepreneurship.
