
Brindley Selected by Blue Jackets in Second Round of 2023 NHL Draft

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Gavin Brindley of the University of Michigan ice hockey team was selected by Columbus Blue Jackets the with the second pick of the second round (34th overall) on day two of the 2023 NHL Draft on Thursday morning (June 29).
Brindley joins fellow Wolverine Adam Fantilli as a Blue Jacket after he was chosen by Columbus with the third overall pick of the first round on Wednesday night (June 28).
Brindley, a native of Estero, Fla., was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection during his freshman season. He set the Big Ten Tournament record for most assists in a single tournament with seven, including a three-assist night in the Wolverines' championship game win over Minnesota. Brindley scored 12 goals and added 26 assists for 38 points in 41 games for the Wolverines. He finished a +21 and finished second on the team in blocked shots with 41. Twenty-three of Brindley's points came after he captured a bronze medal with Team USA at the World Junior Championship in January, as he went on an eight-game point-scoring streak.
