
U-M Draws with Michigan State in East Lansing

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team drew with Michigan State, 0-0, on Tuesday (Oct. 22) at DeMartin Stadium.
Michigan (6-3-5, 1-3-4 Big Ten) tallied four shots, all on target, while Michigan State (9-1-3, 4-3-1 Big Ten) notched six shots. Isaiah Goldson kept the game scoreless for U-M with four saves.
Both teams held their ground defensively early in the first half, with neither side recording a shot in the first 20 minutes. Kamau Brame fired the first attempt of the match in the 30th minute, but Michigan State's Zac Kelly kept it out of the net. MSU's Richie Ludwig also took a shot but missed the target. Goldson made his first save in the 39th minute, keeping the game tied at halftime.
In the 58th minute, Joao Paulo Ramos provided Michigan's best chance with a one-time hit from outside the box, but Kelly made a diving save to preserve the shutout. The Spartans responded with two quick shots in the 66th and 67th minutes, neither on target. Ramos attempted another volley in the 73rd minute, but Kelly made another stop. Michigan State had its best chance in the 89th minute, but Goldson came up with a crucial save to maintain the 0-0 draw.
Up next, Michigan will host Maryland at U-M Soccer Stadium for the final home match of the regular season on Friday (Oct. 25) at 7 p.m.
