ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan softball team and head coach Bonnie Tholl announced Wednesday (Nov. 7) the Wolverines' 2025 schedule, which features 56 regular-season contests with 12 home games at Carol Hutchins Stadium, home of Alumni Field.
The Wolverines' 2025 slate also features 14 total games against eight opponents that reached the NCAA Tournament a season ago, with notable series against new Big Ten Conference members Oregon and UCLA.
Michigan will kick off the program's 48th year of intercollegiate play at the annual USF Tournament, scheduled for Feb. 7-9 in Tampa, Fla. U-M has opened its season at South Florida every year since 2013, with the exception of the 2021 conference-only season. Among its five-game slate, Michigan will again face perennial power Florida, a Women's College World Series participant last season. U-M won both meetings against the Gators in 2024.
The Wolverines will also travel to the University of Georgia (Feb. 13-15) and University of Missouri (March 14-15) and will spend their entire spring break in the Tar Heel State with 14 games over 10 days from Feb. 27-March 8. U-M will appear in tournaments at North Carolina State and UNC Greensboro with single-game matchups at Duke, North Carolina and East Carolina.
Michigan will kick off its Big Ten schedule with neutral-site series against Maryland and Wisconsin from March 20-23 at Devon Park -- home of the WCWS -- in Oklahoma City, Okla., before opening its home slate against Western Michigan (March 25) and in-state rival Michigan State (March 28-30). The Wolverines will also host conference series against Rutgers (April 12-14) and UCLA (April 26-28).
The Wolverines returned nearly all of their 2024 squad that went 43-18, captured the Big Ten Tournament title and reached the NCAA Regional final, most notably four All-Big Ten selections in senior pitcher Lauren Derkowski, sophomore third baseman Maddie Erickson, senior outfielder Ellie Sieler and sophomore outfielder Ella Stephenson. Team 48 brought in a talented seven-member freshman class that includes four nationally ranked prospects as well as sophomore transfer Reganne Bennett.
Renewals for current season ticket holders will be made available in January. Due to overwhelming demand, no new season tickets will be available this spring. Flex packs will go on sale Jan. 23, while group and individual-game tickets will be made available on Feb. 5. For more ticket information and details, please join the softball ticket interest list.
