ANN ARBOR, Michigan -- The national champion University of Michigan Football program announced Thursday (Feb. 8) the addition of two players to the 2024 roster through the transfer portal, linebacker Jaishawn Barham (Maryland) and offensive lineman Josh Priebe (Northwestern). Both players are enrolled at Michigan and preparing to take part in spring practice.
"We are excited to add a pair of competitors to our program," said J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach Sherrone Moore. "Both have a great deal of game experience and have been key contributors for their respective Big Ten teams. We are prepared for them to put in the work this winter and are excited to see what they bring to our team in spring practices."
Barham, who will be a junior next fall, was All-Big Ten honorable mention in both seasons (2022-23) at Maryland. He started all 23 of his games played at linebacker and totaled 95 tackles. Last fall in 2023, he made 37 tackles in 11 games, including three tackles for loss and three sacks. He added one interception, one pass breakup, and three quarterback hurries. As a freshman, Barham led the Terrapins with 6.5 tackles for loss and four sacks while recording the most tackles among all Big Ten freshmen (58). His performance earned him the honor of Freshman All-American by College Football News.
Priebe, a four-year contributor on the offensive line at Northwestern, will be a graduate student in the fall as he returns to his native Michigan (Edwardsburg). He was a team captain in 2023 and earned All-Big Ten (third team). Priebe appeared in 36 games with 29 starts along the interior offensive line across his four seasons with the Wildcats, primarily at left guard. As a freshman in 2020, he appeared in eight of the team's nine games and helped the team win a Big Ten West Division Championship. Priebe earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in each of the last three years.
