ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan rowing team announced on Thursday (June 13) the addition of Deanna Macolino to the 2024 signing class. She joins the five previously-announced (Jan. 19) student-athletes who signed national letters of intent to join the Wolverines. The signing class Macolino joins includes Sinéad Erasmus, Tacey Moore, Leija Murphy, Olive Pascoe, and Ansley Vicars. All six student-athletes will join the U-M program in fall 2024 as first-year students. The program plans to announce additional commitments soon who will help round out the Class of 2024.
"This is an outstanding class of future Michigan student-athletes," said head coach Mark Rothstein. "Each of Sinéad, Deanna, Tacey, Leija, Olive, and Ansley is a great fit with University of Michigan Rowing and the staff, team, and I want to welcome each of them to our program. Our staff also deserves credit for continuing to recognize and bring to Michigan the very best student-athletes and competitors. The Class of 2024 will be excellent contributors in the classroom, the Ann Arbor Community, and on the water.
"As our program continues to move forward, we remain focused on our goals of building Big Ten- and NCAA Championship-caliber teams. In order to accomplish those goals, we must bring championship-caliber people to Ann Arbor, and we believe this group has not only championship-caliber rowers, and championship-caliber students, but championship-caliber people.
