• Big Ten Releases U-M's Conference Assignments for 2024-25
Non-Conference (Aug. 30) -- Michigan completed its non-conference scheduling by announcing the addition of Tarleton State for Thursday, Nov. 21, at Crisler Center. With the addition of Texans, U-M will play 11 non-conference games with six home games and five at neutral sites. In the all-time series, U-M and Tarleton State have met on one other occasion as part of the Roman Main Event regional game in Ann Arbor. U-M claimed a 65-54 victory on Nov. 24, 2021.
Jimmy V Classic at MSG (Aug. 21) -- Michigan will travel to New York City and play Arkansas in the Jimmy V Classic on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Madison Square Garden. In the annual ESPN broadcast, the Wolverines and Razorbacks will be the second game of a doubleheader scheduled for a 9 p.m. tipoff. Miami and Tennessee open the day's play at 6:30 p.m. In what will be Michigan's first invitation to the Jimmy V Classic, the Wolverines take on John Calipari's Razorbacks in the eighth all-time series meeting. U-M has a one-game edge, 4-3, and claimed the series' last win 12 years ago at Crisler Center -- 80-67 (Dec. 8, 2012). » Jimmy V Classic
• Charity Exhibition to Benefit Forgotten Harvest (Aug. 20) -- The Maize and Blue announced it will host a charity exhibition game against Oakland in downtown Detroit on Sunday, Oct. 20, at Little Caesars Arena benefiting Forgotten Harvest. The charity exhibition is scheduled for a 5 p.m. tipoff and will be streamed live on B1G+. The exhibition marks the debut of U-M's new head coach Dusty May, and Oakland's legendary head coach Greg Kampe's 41st campaign with the Golden Grizzlies. » Charity Exhibition
Non-Conference Update (July 10) -- With two remaining non-conference games to be finalized, Michigan Basketball released three more non-conference match-ups. In the regular-season opener, U-M hosts Cleveland State on Monday, Nov. 4 in Dusty May's Crisler Center debut. Closing out U-M's non-conference slate, the Maize and Blue face Purdue Fort Wayne on Sunday, Dec. 22) before the holiday break and wrap up 2024 hosting Western Kentucky on Sunday, Dec. 29. Fort Myers Tip-Off Beach Division Matchups Released (July 10) -- Michigan is set to take on Virginia Tech on Monday, Nov. 25 in its opening Beach Division game at the Fort Myers Tip-Off over Thanksgiving. U-M's game is scheduled to tip at 6 p.m. on FS1. Following a practice/prep day and depending on the opening day results, the Wolverines will face either South Carolina or Xavier on Wednesday, Nov. 27 in the consolation at 6 p.m. (FS1) or championship at 8:30 p.m. (FS1). Deacon-Wolverine Challenge (June 17) -- In coordination with the Gazelle Group, Michigan and Wake Forest announced a two-year series with each other called the Deacon-Wolverine Challenge. Instead of an on-campus home-and-home matchup, the games will be played at a neutral site in each home state. The Maize and Blue will head to Greensboro, N.C., on Sunday, Nov. 10 for the first game at the Greensboro Coliseum. In 2025, Wake Forest will head to Michigan for the second game at a TBD neutral arena in Michigan. The game will be the first in nearly a quarter-century -- U-M hosted Wake Forest for the 2000 ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Crisler Arena. Despite a double-double from Chris Young (10 points, 13 rebounds) and a second from Josh Asselin (12 points, 11 rebounds), the Wolverines fell 71-60. » Deacon-Wolverine Challenge
Home-and-Home with TCU (June 13) -- Michigan and Texas Christian (TCU) agreed to a home-and-home series starting in 2024. The first game will be in Ann Arbor on Friday, Nov. 15 at Crisler Center. U-M will have a return contest in Fort Worth in 2025. The game will be set within the first three weeks of November. The matchup with the Horned Frogs will be the second all-time meeting and the first in 62 years. TCU traveled to Ann Arbor on Dec. 13, 1962 and fell to Bill Buntin (19 points, 19 rebounds) and the Wolverines, 82-60, at Yost Field House. » TCU Basketball
Fort Myers Tip-Off On-Campus Matchup (June 12) -- As part of the Fort Myers Tip-Off hosting eight games throughout its three-day Thanksgiving tournament, the schedule includes four on-campus games before the teams head to the Sunshine State. Beach Division designee Michigan hosts Palm Division's Miami (Ohio) on Monday, Nov. 18 at Crisler Center. The RedHawks are one of four teams in the Palms Division along with Jacksonville, Mercer, and Siena. The Beach Division features U-M, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Xavier. The Maize and Blue has a 5-1 record against Miami (Ohio), with the last game played nearly 20 years ago (2006) at Millett Hall in Oxford -- a 62-56 Michigan win. Fort Myers Tip-Off (Nov. 20, 2023) -- Intersport announced Michigan, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Xavier will be part of the Beach Division and play in the 2024 Fort Myers Tip-Off (Nov. 25-27) at Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College. The 2024 event marks the seventh year Intersport has hosted the Thanksgiving tournament. Michigan holds a 3-3 record against South Carolina, with the last meeting in Ann Arbor in 2018 -- an 89-79 Wolverines victory. U-M is 4-2 against Virginia Tech and has lost two straight meetings. The previous match-up was a 73-70 setback at part of the 2016 ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Ann Arbor. Lastly, the Maize and Blue are 3-1 against Xavier. After three straight wins, the Wolverines fell 86-70 to the Musketeers in a 2015 Gavitt Tipoff Games match-up at Crisler Center. | Fort Myers Tip-Off
