An Ohio State (3-13, 0-8 Big Ten) service error opened the match, but the Buckeyes took the next two points to take the lead. A kill from Jacobs tied the set, and the teams traded points for a 4-4 tie. Michigan then went on a 4-0 run led by Sydney Schnichels, who tallied a block and a kill. The Buckeyes closed within one at 11-10, but a Jacobs kill kept U-M ahead. Michigan maintained its lead and extended it with three straight kills from Jacobs, Demetrician, and Hanes to go up 17-14. Neither team was able to build momentum late in the frame, and with the score 21-18, the Wolverines closed on a 4-0 run capped by a Hanes block and kill to secure the 25-18 win in set one.
The Wolverines opened the second set on a 7-0 run and never let Ohio State back into it. Four different Wolverines registered kills on the run, with Cymarah Gordon adding two and a block. The Buckeyes cut the lead in half at 8-4, but Michigan responded with a 3-0 run to reestablish control. After OSU closed within 9-7, U-M reeled off six straight points led by Jacobs at the service line. The Buckeyes took a 5-3 lead before Jacobs recorded three consecutive kills to put Michigan back in front. OSU regained the advantage at 9-8 and extended it to 10-8 before the Wolverines answered with an 11-2 run, fueled by aces from Burke and Cuchran and three blocks from Serena Nyambio. Neither team mounted a major run down the stretch, and although Ohio State fought off two match points, Nyambio closed out the sweep with a kill for a 25-18 win.
