ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan volleyball head coach Erin Virtue announced Wednesday (Nov. 12) a four-person signing class to join the Wolverines for the 2026 fall season: Kapri Garnett, Megan Ingersoll, Jaden Jones and Meredith Martin.
"This is a very balanced and well-rounded class that's the perfect addition to the returners we have coming back in 2026," said Virtue. "I'm excited about the level of athleticism and craft this group brings. It's a personality-filled class full of great teammates that's going to be a perfect match with the values of our program. We're excited to develop this group and help them master their craft while training and competing with Michigan volleyball."
Kapri Garnett | Opposite Hitter | Calabasas, Calif.
Joining from Calabasas, Calif., via Campbell Hall, Garnett has 209 kills in her senior season, averaging 2.9 kills per set. She is a 6'4" opposite hitter who competes for Sunshine Volleyball Club. Adding to her kills at Campbell Hall this season, Garnett has added 35 blocks, 23 aces and 61 digs over 73 sets, with her primary role as a front-row attacker. PrepDig has named her a standout at the Viewpoint Tournament and a rising athlete in the state. Garnett now ranks as the No. 51 overall recruit in the state of California. She has helped lead Campbell Hall to multiple CIF championships and earned All-Tournament Special Mention honors at the Nike Tournament of Champions Southwest. Garnett comes from a strong athletic family with her dad, Kevin Garnett, a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer (2020 Class), NBA champion and 15-time NBA All-Star.
Virtue on Garnett:Â "Kapri comes from an incredibly athletic lineage and knows what it takes to compete at the highest level. She has a genuine desire to be great. While she's still developing in the game of volleyball, her combination of physicality, height, and competitive mentality gives her enormous upside. We're excited to help her reach her potential at Michigan."
Megan Ingersoll | Outside Hitter | Hoover, Ala.
Hailing from Hoover, Ala., and Spain Park High School, Ingersoll is a 6'1" outside hitter. Competing for Alabama Performance Volleyball Club, Ingersoll led Alabama Class 7A with 536 kills as a junior and earned numerous honors, including AHSAA Class 7A All-State second team, All-County first team twice and All-South Metro Offensive Player of the Year. She has posted standout individual performances, including a 35-kill, .608-hitting match, and ranks among the top two players in her division and top 11 statewide according to MaxPreps. Nationally, Ingersoll was recognized by PrepVolleyball.com as a Top 150 player and made the All-Tournament Team in the 17 Open division at the 2025 Nike President's Day Classic.
Virtue on Ingersoll:Â "Megan is going to be a really fun addition to this class. She's an incredible teammate and a phenomenal outside hitter with a great arm. What stands out is how she competes -- with fierceness and a genuine love for the game. I think she's an underrated outside hitter in this class, and we're excited to watch her make a splash in the Big Ten."
Jaden Jones | Middle Blocker | Tampa, Fla.
Coming from Tampa, Fla., and Tampa Bay Tech High School, Jones is a 6'1" middle blocker. She is a strong blocker, appearing on the Hillsborough County Class 6A District 10 stat leaderboards with 19 blocks, placing her among the top blockers in the district. On the club side, Jones competes for OTVA's 17s, where PrepDig highlighted her at the USAV Florida Gold Series for her strong blocking. Jones earned conference honors three times, taking second team Western Conference honors in 2023 and 2024. In her most recent season, Jones earned first team honors for the conference.
Virtue on Jones:Â "Jaden is a physical, dynamic middle blocker who brings an exciting presence at the net. Her athleticism and power are exactly what we look for in that position, and we're thrilled about the opportunity to develop her within our program. She's going to complement our returning middles beautifully and add another dimension to what we can do offensively and defensively."
Meredith Martin | Libero | Northville, Mich.
Joining the Wolverines from Northville, Mich., and Marian High School, Martin is a 5'7" libero, who plays club volleyball for Legacy Volleyball Club's 16-1 Adidas team. A back-row anchor, she led Marian in digs per set at 3.50 and finished with 238 total digs in the 2025 season, ranking third in her conference. She is the No. 70-ranked recruit nationally by PrepDig and the sixth at her position. Her honors include selection to the VolleyballMag Girls Club Volleyball Dream Team at the 2024 Triple Crown NIT after helping Legacy capture the Elite 16s championship, a PrepVolleyball.com All-American nod, and recognition as a PrepDig Division II Player of the Year finalist in Michigan.
Virtue on Martin:Â "From the moment we started recruiting Meredith, we saw her as one of the best liberos in the class of 2026. She's poised, competitive, a great passer and defender, and an incredible teammate. We love keeping the best players in Michigan at home, and we're excited for her to come in and help Michigan take steps forward in both serve reception and defense."
