
Dahlin Wins Opening Match at NCAA Singles Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Max Dahlin of the University of Michigan men's tennis team won his opening match of the 2025 NCAA Singles Championship on Tuesday (Nov. 18) at the USTA National Campus.
Dahlin defeated Sebastian Dominko (Notre Dame) 7-6 (3), 6-3 in his first career NCAA Championship match.
Both players held serve in the first set to head into a tiebreaker. Dahlin used a mini break to take advantage and rolled to a 7-3 victory. In the second set, Dahlin went on a 3-0 run thanks to a break to take a 5-2 advantage and clinched on his next service.
Dahlin is now 2-0 against Dominko this season. Dahlin punched his ticket to NCAA Championship thanks to a 6-3, 7-6 (12-10) win over Dominko at the NCAA Regionals on Oct. 20.
Dahlin will now face Jack Loutit (Kentucky), who won 6-1, 7-5 today in a match tomorrow, Wednesday (Nov. 19). Match time is to be determined.
Dahlin will have double duty, as he and partner Bjorn Swenson are set to begin NCAA Doubles Championship play. The duo will face Aaron Sandler/Manfredi Graziani (Penn), with match time still to be determined.
