The University of Michigan men's soccer team took another step forward in 2025. Behind veteran leadership and new talent, the Wolverines reached their second consecutive Big Ten final and made the program's 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Team Highlights
• After going undefeated (3-0-1) at U-M Soccer Stadium to open the season, Michigan started Big Ten play with a win over No. 1-ranked Indiana on Sept. 13, its first win over a top-ranked team in program history. Joao Paulo Ramos, Kyle Pierson and Grayson Elmquist each notched a goal, and Isaiah Goldson made a crucial penalty-kick save in the waning moments to secure the 3-2 victory for the Maize and Blue.
• Michigan closed the regular season with a seven-match unbeaten streak with six wins during that span. In that stretch, Michigan defeated Ohio State in Columbus and tallied conference wins over UCLA, Northwestern and Wisconsin at home.
• U-M finished third in the Big Ten to earn a place in the Big Ten Tournament in College Park, Md. The Wolverines defeated Washington 2-0 to advance to their second straight Big Ten Tournament final.
• The Maize and Blue earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, its 10th appearance in the field in program history.

Individual Highlights
• Will Baker was a critical part of the Wolverines defense in 2025, starting all 20 matches and logging 1,780 minutes. He also tallied his first career points, including his first career goal, against Detroit Mercy on Oct. 28. For his efforts, Baker was named to the All-Big Ten second team.
• Matthew Fisher played an important role on both ends for the Maize and Blue this season, contributing to a strong defence that allowed only 13 goals in the regular season, including eight shutouts. Offensively, Fisher dished out five assists, tying him for the team lead in 2025. For his two-way prowess, Fisher was named to the All-Big Ten second team.
• Nolan Miller stabilised the Michigan back line all season long, recording 1,736 minutes and getting the start in every match this season. Miller also contributed on the offensive side, tying his career high with six points on the campaign with two goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal against Creighton on Aug. 29. As a result, Miller was named to the All-Big Ten second team, and for his work in the classroom was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
• Michael Ramirez had a very productive offensive season in his first year with the Wolverines, appearing in 19 games and starting eight. The sophomore scored five goals this year while adding on another five assists, sharing the team lead in helpers and standing alone at the top with 15 points in 2025. Perhaps his most impressive effort of the season came against UCLA on Oct. 17 in which he scored the first two goals of the match in a 3-0 shutout.
•Shuma Sasaki played a featured role in the Michigan offense in his first year in Ann Arbor. The graduate student scored three goals on the season, including the game-winner against Bowling Green on Sept. 1, and added two assists in 15 games on the campaign.
