COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team closed out competition at the 44 Farms Team Invitational on Saturday (April 12), setting four top 10-program marks on day two of the event.
In the 400-meter dash, Lawrence Gilliam placed 24th (47.64 seconds) and came 0.14 seconds short of his personal best. John O'Reilly placed 29th with a time of 48.15 and Jack Juds placed 33rd with a personal-best time of 48.43.
A trio of Wolverines finished in the top 10 of the 800-meter run invite section and cracked the top 10 program performers list. Camden Law won the race with a time of 1:46.89 to come in at No. 5 on the program's top-10 list, while Trent McFarland finished fourth (1:47.50) and Brendan Herger finished seventh (1:47.96). McFarland and Herger are the seventh- and eighth-fastest Wolverines, respectively, on the program performers list.
Freshman Josh Huisman set a personal-best mark of 18.39 meters (60 feet, 4 inches) in the shot put to finish eighth and post the No. 8 mark on the program performers list. Aiden Felty finished 12th with a season-best mark of 17.43m (57-2.25) and Zane Forist finished 15th (17.30m, 56-9.25).
Tianhao Wei finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.54m (51-0). The mark would have been a season best but it was not wind-legal.
The Maize and Blue will split between a pair of meets next week, heading to Winston-Salem, N.C., for the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday and Friday (April 17-18) and to Gainesville, Fla., for the Tom Jones Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 18-19).
