May 24 -- Hunter Thomson

» Hunter Thomson earns the regional honor for the second straight season, and he is the fifth Wolverine to receive multiple regional team selections by the GCAA.
» Thomson was among 22 Big Ten golfers to earn a regional team selection: Jackson Buchanan, Max Herendeen and Ryan Voois (Illinois); Clay Merchent and Cole Starnes (Indiana); Emil Riegger (Maryland); Thomson (Michigan); Caleb Bond (Michigan State); Rudy Sautron (Nebraska); Cameron Adam, Niall Shiels-Donegan and Daniel Svärd (Northwestern); Greyson Leach (Oregon); Alex Creamean and Jake Griffin (Penn State); Nels Surtani, Sam Easterbrook and Kent Hsiao (Purdue); Weston Jones and Noah Kumar (Rutgers); and Pablo Ereño and Omar Morales (UCLA).
April 24 -- Hunter Thomson
Big Ten Golfer of the Week
» Posting a fifth straight sub-par 54-hole total, Hunter Thomson (203, -10) finished his regular-season career by capturing medalist honors at the Purdue Invitational.
» After carding three bogeys and two birdies in his first 12 holes, he closed the opening round with two additional birdies and four pars to post a 70 (-1). Including those final six holes from round one, Thomson strung back-to-back clean-sheet rounds and played 42 consecutive holes of bogey-free golf to earn his third career title.
» Following his 70 (-1) opener, Thomson recorded rounds of 66 (-5) and 67 (-4) with nine birdies and 27 pars. His 203 (-10) total marked his second individual title of the season and sixth top-five finish.
» Thomson has carded 14 of 15 rounds at par or better this spring, including 11 sub-par scores. He leads U-M with a 69.84 scoring average.
» The Big Ten honor is the eighth all-time for Thomson -- the most all-time by a Wolverine.
April 17 -- Hunter Thomson
Big Ten Golfer of the Week
» In his fourth straight tournament and seventh overall this season, Hunter Thomson posted a sub-par 54-hole total as his 207 (-9) led the Wolverines for the ninth time in 10 events, earning a runner-up finish third time this season at the Buckeye Classic.
» Opening with rounds of 67 (-5) and 68 (-4) on Friday (April 11), Thomson finished the first 36 holes atop the leaderboard at 135 (-9). With an even-par 72 on Saturday (April 12), he slipped one spot while Kent State's Jordan Gilkison used a closing 68 (-4) to take medalist honors (205, -11).
» The Big Ten honor is the seventh all-time for Thomson -- the most all-time by a Wolverine.
Feb. 20 -- Hunter Thomson
Big Ten Golfer of the Week
» Hunter Thomson's runner-up finish helped the Wolverines post a second straight top-five finish to open their spring season and extended their streak to four straight top-five finishes.
» Using back-to-back 70s, Thomson positioned himself in a three-way tie for the lead after 36 holes. After two bogeys and a birdie, he made a mad dash for the finish with three straight birdies on the final holes to post a 69 (-2) and end a shot back of medalist Ethan Klose (New Mexico State).
» Thomson's runner-up finish was the seventh of his career, and he has led the Wolverines in seven of eight events this season.
Oct. 3 -- Yuqi Liu
Big Ten Golfer of the Week
» With his 137 (-7) total, Yuqi Liu tied for medalist honors for a second straight year at the rain-shortened Virtues Intercollegiate. He was one of four Wolverines among the top seven, guiding U-M to the team title for a second consecutive year.
» Liu, who tied with Robert Morris' Chuck Tragesser (72-65), posted back-to-back sub-par tallies of 69 (-3) and 68 (-4) to capture his second career individual title.
» With five straight sub-par tallies over the last two years at the Virtues Golf Club, Liu has compiled a minus-16 total.
Sept. 19 -- Hunter Thomson
Big Ten Golfer of the Week
» With a 202 (-14) total, Hunter Thomson led from start to finish and earned his second career medalist honor while guiding U-M to a season best runner-up finish at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational.
» In addition to his second career win, the victory earned Thomson an exemption to play in the 2025 RBC Canadian Open (June 3-5) at the TPC of Toronto.
» With 18 pars, 15 birdies and three bogeys during Monday's opening 36 holes, Calgary-native Thomson posted back-to-back 66s (-6) to build a four-shot lead heading into the final round. Four more birdies and two bogeys over his final 18 saw him close with a 70 (-2) and a two-shot win.
