ROSEMONT, Ill. -- University of Michigan women's lacrosse goalie Erin O'Grady was named the Big Ten Goaltender of the Year for the second consecutive year as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon (April 29).
O'Grady is the first player in Michigan history to receive a Big Ten Player of the Year award twice in her career as she also earned the honor in her junior campaign. She is also a two-time Big Ten first-team honoree and a two-time Tewaaraton nominee.
O'Grady has won 10 games this season, leading the Big Ten and ranking second nationally with a .540 save percentage. O'Grady is the third goalie in program history with more than 300 stops, carrying 334 saves into the NCAA Tournament to rank third all-time in Michigan annals.
The senior goalie is one away from breaking the Michigan career wins record (tied with Mira Shane, 24) after the win over USC in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal. O'Grady is the second U-M goalie to win 20 games and owns the Michigan single-season wins record with 14 in 2024.
O'Grady has 11 games with double-digit saves, including six straight contests with 10 or more stops. She made a career-high 14 saves against Colorado and recorded 13 saves at Denver this season.
O'Grady and the rest of the Michigan squad will await selection to the NCAA Tournament. The selection show is set for Sunday, May 4, at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
