ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan volleyball team is set to depart on a 13-day Mediterranean trip with stops in Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan, Napfilo and Athens from June 1-13.
"We are thrilled to be taking our team overseas to compete against talented programs in both Italy and Greece this June," said coach Erin Virtue. "Our team had a wonderful winter semester of training, and this European tour represents an exceptional opportunity for continued growth. Beyond the valuable competition on the court, our student-athletes will experience diverse cultures while building team cohesion with both returning players and newcomers. This international experience will be instrumental in unifying our team as we prepare for the upcoming season. On behalf of our entire program, we are incredibly grateful to the generous donors who made this transformative trip possible."
The squad will compete in five international matches during the trip.
Between games, the Wolverines will mix in sightseeing, excursions and team bonding.
