ROSEMOUNT, Ill. -- Jenissa Conway, a sophomore outfielder, and Indiana Langford, a junior second baseman, were named to the All-Big Ten Conference first team, while the University of Michigan softball team earned four total honorees when the Big Ten office announced its 2025 all-conference softball teams and individual award winners on Friday (May 9) in conjunction with the Big Ten Tournament.
Michigan was one of four programs to earn multiple selections to the first team, while Conway was one of just five unanimous first-team honorees.
Conway boasts a career-best .377 batting average, improving on her rookie season average by 141 points, and leads the team this season with a .738 slugging percentage on 11 doubles, two triples and 17 home runs, and 48 RBI. Her Big Ten stats were even better, ranking fifth in the conference with a .432 average, third in slugging percentage (.932), second in home runs (10) and fifth in RBI (27).
Langford, who previously earned All-Big Ten second team honors as a freshman (2023), leads the Wolverines with a .409 batting average -- an 80-point improvement on her previous career high -- and a .481 on-base percentage this season from the leadoff spot. She has reached base 53.7 percent of the time when leading off an inning and, in league play, batted .397 with 29 total hits and 23 runs, ranking top 10 in the latter two categories.
Lauren Putz, a freshman designated player, earned selection to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team, while Ella Stephenson, a sophomore outfielder who made the All-Freshman Team last season, was the Wolverines' Sportsmanship Award honoree.
Putz ranks second on the team with a .383 batting average, .722 slugging percentage on 14 doubles, a triple and 14 homers, and a .466 on-base percentage. A top 25 finalist for the 2025 NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year, she ranks among the top 15 freshmen nationally in several offensive statistics and leads all Big Ten rookies in runs per game (.89), total hits (61) and doubles (14).
Michigan will take on host Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Bittinger Stadium in West Lafayette, Ind. All tournament games will air live on the Big Ten Network.
