ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's cross country team finished fifth (139 points) at the Spartan Invite/B1G Preview hosted by Michigan State on Friday (Sept. 12) in East Lansing, Mich.
Northwestern (18) won the meet, while host Michigan State (89) took second. Grand Valley State (119) and Cincinnati (122) rounded out the top five.
Sophomore Anjali Hocker Singh led the Wolverines with a 13th-place finish in a personal-best time of 20:51.3, improving her previous best by more than 30 seconds.
Rylee Tolson (21:19.0) and Penelopea Gordon (21:22.0) placed 30th and 33rd, respectively, while Hannah Pricco finished 41st (21:35.5).
Making her season debut, Natalie VanOtteren placed 44th with a time of 21:39.0. Leah Hill crossed 47th (21:40.3), while Gabbie Michael followed in 48th with a personal-best 21:42.2, lowering her previous mark by nearly 20 seconds.
