Wolverines to Open Spring Season at Florida Hidden Duals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis team kicks off the spring season competing in the Florida Hidden Duals from Friday through Sunday (Jan. 9-11) at the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Fla.
Notes
• Michigan is coming off a 15-13 2024-25 dual season that saw the Wolverines finish sixth in the Big Ten. The Wolverines earned their ninth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, falling in the first round.
• Max Dahlin earned double All-America honors in his first season as a Wolverine. He started his career undefeated, going on a 9-0 run to the NCAA quarterfinals. He went 4-1 against ranked opponents, with his lone loss to No. 16-ranked Martin Borisiouk (NC State) in the quarterfinals. Dahlin finished the fall ranked No. 7 in the ITA singles rankings.
• Dahlin and doubles partner Bjorn Swenson reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament with a massive win over the No. 8-ranked pair from UCLA in the second round. Overall, the U-M pair went 5-0 during the fall including a 3-0 mark against ranked duos. The duo is ranked No. 7 nationally.
• Swenson posted a 6-3 mark in his final fall season as a Wolverine. He enters the spring with an overall singles record of 48-35, with a 26-23 dual mark and is 10-5 in conference matches.
• Senior Nicholas Steiglehner heads into spring with a 49-36 overall singles record, going 28-18 in dual play with a 12-6 conference record. He owns a career-best 11-match win streak. He and Swenson are ranked in the ITA doubles rankings at No. 22 after a 4-0 mark from the fall. They are 6-2 as a duo during their career at U-M.
• Senior Mert Oral is ranked No. 123 in the ITA singles rankings after he put together a 7-6 fall. He is 29-29 overall and 8-7 in dual matches with a 5-3 mark in the Big Ten.
• Junior Alex Cairo won both of his doubles matches in the fall and owns a career singles record of 15-22.
• Freshmen Pierce Shaya, Arnav Bhandari and Joseph Oyebog Jr. will challenge for spots in the bottom half of the lineup.
• Michigan's home opener is set for Saturday, Feb. 7, when the Wolverines host Columbia, followed on Sunday, Feb. 8, against Tennessee. Both matches will be at noon at the Varsity Tennis Center.
