CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Junior center fielder Jenissa Conway drove in four runs in her final two at-bats as the University of Michigan softball team surged to an 8-0 win in six innings over Bucknell in continued action at the Party at Palmer Park Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 28) at Palmer Park.

Michigan scored three runs apiece in the fifth and sixth innings. Conway delivered a two-run triple to the left-field fence, already her fifth three-bagger of the season, in the fifth and ended the game early in the sixth with a two-run double to left-center field.

Sophomore right fielder Lauren Putz, who also drove in a run in the fifth with a first-pitch RBI double following a Bucknell pitching change, teamed with junior designated player Erin Hoehn to score the Wolverines' first two runs of the game. Putz roped a two-out double to the left-center field fence in the first inning and scored when Hoehn dropped a single just fair inside the left-field line. In the fourth, she walked, stole second and scored on a Hoehn RBI single to the left-center gap.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher Kat Meyers (4-1) tossed a one-hit shutout, Michigan's fifth shutout of the season, and struck out a career-high eight batters, including two apiece in the first, third and sixth innings.

The Wolverines (14-4) will close out play at the Party at Palmer Park Invitational on Sunday (March 1), facing Villanova at 10 a.m. and host Virginia at 3 p.m. at Palmer Park. The latter game will be streamed live on ACCNX.
