ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball program has added Courtney Ogden as a graduate transfer, J. Ira and Nicki Harris Head Women's Basketball Coach Kim Barnes Arico announced on Wednesday (April 15). She will have one season of eligibility with the Wolverines.
"Courtney is a player that I recruited from her days in high school and with FBC, her AAU program," Barnes Arico said. "She's a phenomenal basketball player, a phenomenal student and a phenomenal person from an unbelievable family. I have watched her continue to develop, get better and improve. She has a chance to make an immediate impact on our program. She's got a chance to be a pro and a draft pick next year. We are excited about her versatility and all the different things she can do on the basketball court. I think she adds to our team that already has a ton of versatility, gives us another piece and some more depth that we certainly will need."
Ogden, a 6-1 guard/forward from Atlanta, spent the first three seasons of her career at Stanford. This past season, she averaged 12.9 points per game on 51.3 percent shooting and 4.3 rebounds in 30.8 minutes per game. She scored in double figures 23 times as a junior, highlighted by a 26-point performance in the season finale against BYU (March 26). As a sophomore, she appeared in 31 games with one start, averaging 5.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per game. She helped Stanford to the 2024 Pac-12 Championship during her first season, earning Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention from the coaches.
She appeared in 97 games during her time in Palo Alto and comes to Ann Arbor with 734 career points.
A McDonald's All-American out of Atlanta, Ogden was ranked as the No. 10 recruit in the 2023 class. She was also a Jordan Brand Classic All-American and a WBCA High School All-American. She was the MaxPreps and Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the state of Georgia in 2023, averaging 22.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.7 steals per game during her senior season. Ogden is the fifth McDonald's All-American to sign with the Wolverines.
Ogden won a gold medal with USA Basketball at the FIBA U18 Women's Americas Championship in 2022.
