Wolverines Triumph Over Huskies to Win Second National Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The No. 3-ranked and No. 1 Midwest seed University of Michigan men's basketball team defeated No. 7 UConn, 69-63, on Monday night (April 6) in the championship game of the NCAA Tournament at Lucas Oil Stadium. The victory secured the Maize and Blue its second-ever national title.
The 2025-26 Wolverines team joins the 1988-89 squad, which won the title in Seattle with an overtime victory against Seton Hall, as U-M men's hoops national champions.
Michigan finished the season with a program-record 37 wins against three losses and captured the Big Ten championship in the process on the way to its title win.
