Record: 8-4, 2-2 Big Ten Conferece
Big Ten Championships: 2nd Place (1,208 points)
NCAA Championships: 8th Place (220 points)
The University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team saw tremendous growth in the third year of the Matt Bowe era. The Wolverines finished second at the Big Ten Championships for the second consecutive season and posted their best NCAA finish in nearly a decade.

Team Highlights
• The Wolverines opened the season on a tear, defeating their first five opponents, including two Big Ten foes, to head to the midseason meet with a perfect 5-0 record.
• The Maize and Blue took part in the first-ever CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge in Knoxville, Tenn. U-M took on Virginia and host Tennessee as part of the four-team tournament and came away with two wins over UVA to claim third place.
• Following the regular season, Michigan trekked to Madison, Wis., for the Big Ten Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. The Wolverines saw multiple gold medals captured and numerous records fall on the way to their second runner-up finish in as many years.
• Seven swimmers earned a place at the NCAA Championships for individual events in Atlanta, Ga. Behind strong swims across all four days, the Maize and Blue finished eighth overall, marking the best team finish since the 2017-18 season. Eight Wolverines earned All-America honors.

Individual Highlights
• Senior Tyler Ray shone in his final year with the program, setting three new school records (50-yard freestyle, 100- and 200-yard butterfly) and capturing two individual Big Ten titles to earn Big Ten Swimmer of the Championships, the second Wolverine in three seasons to accomplish the feat. At the NCAA Championships, Ray earned a bronze medal in the 200 fly and landed on the All-America team.
• Freshman Luka Mladenovic made an impression from the first meet of the season. He set new program marks in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke and took Big Ten titles in both events, the first Wolverine to sweep the breaststroke events since Scott Spann in 2008. Mladenovic won bronze in the 200 breast at the NCAA Championships to earn All-America distinction.
• Sophomore Lorne Wigginton took a big step forward in 2025-26, highlighted by a new school record in the 400-yard individual medley, toppling a mark that had stood for 17 years. Wigginton was versatile in his second year with the program, placing in the top eight at the Big Ten Championships in three different events, including silver in the 400 IM.
• Jack Wilkening rounded out the individual record breakers with a new school mark in the 100-yard backstroke and lowering his own school record. He was also a valuable part of four relay teams that set new school records and placed in the top eight at the NCAA Championships.
