ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Fifteen Wolverines will represent the University of Michigan men's track and field team at the NCAA East First Round hosted by Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., from Wednesday through Saturday, May 27-30.
The Maize and Blue tied for ninth at the Big Ten Championships last weekend, picking up four medals and tying one program record.
Freshman Quincy Isaac opened his postseason campaign with a bang, tying the program's oldest record en route to a silver medal in the long jump. Isaac posted a personal-best mark of 7.73 meters (25 feet, 4.5 inches) to earn a spot in the finals, before jumping another personal best of 7.89m (25-10.75) on his final jump to secure a second-place finish. The mark ties the program record set by DeHart Hubbard in 1925.
Trent McFarland (4:01.49) and Brendan Herger (4:01.84) picked up silver and bronze, respectively, in the 1,500-meter run, while Riley Flemington (4:02.80) finished seventh. Herger earned his first career outdoor Big Ten medal while Flemington made his 1,500-meter run finals debut.
A trio of Wolverines went 2-4-5 in the 800-meter run, with Camden Law (1:47.29) leading the contingent to score 17 points. Miles Brown finished fourth with a time of 1:47.94 and John O'Reilly finished just behind him in fifth with a time of 1:48.01.
For each individual event contested at each of the first-round sites, the top 48 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition. For each relay event, the top 24 declared relay teams will be accepted. Combined events (heptathlon and decathlon) are not contested at the first-round sites.
Twelve competitors from each individual event and 12 teams from each relay event advance from each first-round site. The 2026 NCAA Division I Track and Field Championship will be hosted by Oregon at Hayward Field.
