
Preseason Honors: Daley Named AP Preseason Second-Team All-American

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan edge rusher John Henry Daley was named to the Associated Press Preseason All-America second team on Tuesday (Aug. 18).
Michigan's preseason award honorees (as of Aug. 18):
Troy Bowles, Senior, Linebacker

• Aug. 14: Butkus Award Watch List
• 20 career games played, including 19 at linebacker (seven at Georgia, 13 at Michigan); a regular special teams contributor during his career
• Credited with 27 tackles with 2.0 for loss, including one sack, with one forced fumble and one pass breakup in his first year as a Wolverine in 2025
• Set U-M bests of six tackles (against Purdue), two tackles for loss and one sack (against New Mexico). Also blocked a punt (against Wisconsin) and forced a fumble (against Central Michigan)
• Recorded five tackles at Georgia, where he helped the team reach the 2024 College Football Playoff
Jyaire Hill, Senior, Defensive Back

• Aug. 12: Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watch List
• 29 career games played at cornerback with 22 starts
• Credited with 79 career tackles with 10.0 for loss, including 2.0 sacks
• 15 career pass breakups, including two interceptions
• Broke up at least one pass in 13 of 25 games played across 2024 and 2025

• Voted as the team's 2025 Defensive Skill Player of the Year

Andrew Sprague, Junior, Offensive Line

• The fourth-ever true freshman quarterback to start for the Maize and Blue (Rick Leach, 1975; Chad Henne, 2004; Tate Forcier, 2009)
• Posted 251 passing yards in his first career game, the most ever for a freshman in a debut start
• Recorded 200-plus passing yards in seven games, with 230-plus in five games
Smith Snowden, Senior, Defensive Back
